Haiti - Politic : Installation of the new Minister of Communication
Our colleague Ady Jean Gardy, as installed as the new Minister of Communication by her colleague Stéphanie Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism by delegation of Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe.

Mr. Ady Jean Gardy, is committed to fight against extreme poverty among journalists and improve the environment of operation of the press in Haiti through a Collective Labour Agreement. The new Minister paid tribute to communication professionals for their invaluable contribution to democratic principles.

As part of its new action plan, Ady Jean Gardy intends to act on 3 fundamental elements, who according to him are primarily intended :

  • To fill the gap of information of the Government of the Republic of Haiti without going through the propaganda
  • Manage a positive image of Haiti throughout Haiti and the world
  • Promote citizenship and social communication for sustainable development.

The new Minister of Communications also plans to offer to media workers, health insurance and life insurance, continuing education to journalists and directors of opinion, not to mention a support for community media, because of their proximity to the population in areas difficult to access.

The Minister Jean Gardy reiterated its determination to defend press freedom and freedom of expression, and to work with all the press associations of the country to foster a climate of confidence between civil society, the powers of the state and the various forces of the Nation "so that together we can achieve national reconstruction."
