Haiti - Security : The PNH continues its operations in the territory of the «Chen Mechan» gang (video)

Regarding information circulating on social media suggesting that Haitian National Police (PNH) units had ceased their operations on Friday, April 4th, 2025, in the territory of the "Chen Mechan" gang in the Plaine du Cul de Sac area, specifically in Croix-des-Missions and Chada (commune of Croix-des-Bouquets), the PNH advises that this information is incomplete and subject to interpretation.
The PNH wishes to clarify that on Friday, April 4th, it experienced a technical and mechanical problem during these operations, but that this was in no way a suspension of operations. The PNH emphasizes that these problems were quickly resolved, and by Saturday, April 5, operations had been fully relaunched and are still ongoing in the area, particularly those aimed at disabling this gang, driving them from their territory, and tracking down its leader, Claudy Célestin, alias "Chen Mechan".
