Haiti - Elections : The Emergence of a common front
After three days of discussions and debates, the Conference of Politic Force, Social and Territorial of opposition, established Thursday a political structure called "Front Politique Unitaire". The opposition leaders say they will continue the meetings with candidates and platforms of all parties who demand the departure of the current CEP.

Former Prime Minister Rosny Smart said he was satisfied with how the conference was held. Letting know that this common front is a first answer given to the Haitian authorities in order to fight effectively against the regime "We want to also say to the international community which the country has men and women who have the capacity to direct it without corruption and being placed under trust".

This common front, which continues to assert that the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) in its present composition is not able to organize good elections in the country, proposes to hold its first special meeting soon to strengthen mobilization in order to obtain better living conditions for the people living under tents. It also intends to work with the realization of regional conferences in order to consolidate the common front and the installation of a power of transition in order to organize free elections, honest and democratic in the country.

But this common front already seems very fragile. Several ex-senators and ex-deputies, do not intend to make walk-back [and to take part in the elections] in spite of the position of their organizations, in spite of the resolution of this Thursday, September 16. Thus, the former senator Joseph Pierre Louis reaffirmed for its part, is will and that of several other former parliamentary candidate registered under the banner of different opposition parties, to go to elections. He said he will try to convince the leaders of the common front organizations of the merits of their decisions, saying they should use what he calls "the failed presidential platform" to win the next election .
