An entry of buyers and sellers from Haiti is expected this Monday, October 16, 2023 after an agreement in principle concluded on Sunday between traders and authorities of the two countries on the opening of binational markets, however it is not certain that Haiti reopens its doors this Monday... Limber Cruz, the Minister of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic, said that trade between the two countries would begin to improve "[...] It is a relationship between two countries that must be improved, because neither of them is going to move, because they share the same island." At the same time, the National Research Department continues the biometric registration process at entry through the Dajabón border, so that Haitian traders who intend to participate in the exchange in the Provisional Trade Corridors can come buy and sell their goods.
